There are plenty of electrical appliances for your food truck to choose. You may wonder which ones you will need. Don't worry! We'll see on this guide how to prepare your food truck for your new business.

1. Electrical appliances for food trucks

Consider a range if you need to boil, stir fry or fry any food. A barbecue grill is a useful appliance if you want to get those great grill marks on your proteins and vegetables.

Some people buy a microwave to heat quickly the garnish or steam cook some vegetables. Buy only a grill if you cook hamburgers, eggs or vegetables.

If you're going to sell sandwiches, consider buying a toaster. You can get the perfect texture in your rolls, bread o English muffins.

One of the most popular items is a deep fryer. This is an essential appliance. You can cook items like onion rings, chicken steaks, and chips to start, and then branch out and try more adventurous fried options as you get used to using it.

You'll need some ventilation, like an extractor o a fan or to use deep fryers, grills and commercial ovens. These extractors air out outdoors so that you and your employees don't breath that steam. You'll also want a sprinkler for the stove in case of fire.

2. Heating equipment

If you want to keep your dishes warm for your customers, invest in holding equipment like a holding cabinet or a countertop warmer.

Holding cabinets will keep your food at a safe temperature, while countertop warmers are good for items like vegetables, pasta, or stews.

3. Storage and preparation equipment

When setting up your food truck, you will need some areas to store and prepare your work. You won't have much space, so you need to be creative. Think about the kind of food you'll prepare.

You may need a separate area to prepare bulk food like pasta or soups. If you are making individual servings, such as fried food baskets, pizza, or sandwiches, you will need more space.

Pick up the cutting boards and knives. Don't forget to buy a food processor, a thermometer, and a potato chip cutter.

4. Refrigeration equipment

The most probably thing is that you will need a fridge, and depending on what you're planning to serve at your food truck, you may also want a freezer or a beverages cooler. This kind of big electrical appliances will be screwed to the walls to keep you and your employees safe.

Another good option is an undercounter fridge. These serve a dual purpose as food storage and as another work surface.

If you sell a lot of salads or sandwiches, consider buying a preparation-table fridge. In this way, you will have individual compartments dedicated to all the ingredients, sauces and condiments you need.
