We are in an age where everyone expects to receive any product, service or information quickly and immediately.

Today, food truck caravans are more versatile than traditional ones. Anything from vans to trailers can be customised to take your restaurant on the road.

1. Window and awning order

On the side of your food truck, you'll want to have a sliding window for taking orders. In vehicle merchandising conversions, a window leaves room for a cashier and a registration system, not to mention space for taking orders. An awning goes beyond aesthetics for customers. It can be automatic or manual, but it will provide shade on hot, sunny days and protection on rainy days.

2. Refrigeration

When serving food, you will need a way to keep meats, dairy and other products cold. Refrigeration units can come in different sizes so you can adapt them to the dimensions and needs of your mobile food truck.

3. Preparation table

Like in any stationary kitchen, there needs to be a place to prepare food. Depending on what's on your food truck's menu, you may need more than one prep table. These tables are typically 1 to 1.5 metres long and have convenient storage containers for quick access to prepared items, such as chopped vegetables for pizza, sliced cheese for sandwiches or ingredients for garnishing salads.

4. Deep fryers and stoves

Probably the most essential part of a food truck is the ability to cook food. Mobile kitchen conversions include an extensive line of fryers, ranges, cookers, griddles and grills. You'll want to take a good look at what you plan to cook in your kitchen to determine which and how many of these appliances you'll need.

5. Wi-Fi setup for e-commerce

Technology is required to complete sales transactions. Other businesses have manual registers with sliding machines or even simple cash drawers. Many of these services require reliable Wi-Fi, so instead of relying on public access, set up your own secure Internet service. This will give you more freedom to set up in places where other Wi-Fi might not be available.

6. Digital menu board and order screen

Another reason to have Wi-Fi is to operate digital menu boards and order screens. This is a great tool when your menu changes frequently or in case you run out of a popular item. Order displays are a great way to change the dishes you have for sale in your food truck in Spain.

7. Air conditioning unit

It can get pretty hot in a food truck when all the grills are on. For the comfort and safety of you and your employees, having an air conditioning unit is pretty essential if you live in a place that gets hot in the summer. You don't want sweat dripping on the food or workers passing out from overheating.
