Working at a food truck can be funny. There's so much friendship among the employees because of the small spaces and the jumpy environment that make us be alert.

However, working at a food truck can be both funny and dangerous because of these same things. There are a few common injuries at a food truck that can happen to the employees, like burns, cuts, slips and falls, smoke inhalation and heat exhaustion.

??Luckily, there are ways to prevent most of these injuries and keep us safe, happy and healthy.

1. Burns

Burns are some of the most common injuries in a restaurant. Due to the small space inside a food truck and the great percentage of space used for cooking, food truck workers are more likely to suffer these injuries. Some burns are mild, but some of them can be very serious.

To prevent burns accidents in a food truck, there are some steps to follow. First, avoid overcrowding in kitchen. Workers mustn't use loose clothes or flammable fabrics.

2. Cuts

Cut accidents are also very common in food service industry due to the presence of sharp knives, and this is an emergency that can happen on board. Other cutting machines, like slicers or graters can also cause painful cuts and sharp injuries.

To keep the food truck workers safe from cut accidents, make sure there is enough storage space, so sharp objects will never be on the countertop if they're not being used. Provide them with knives of the appropriate size. Keep them sharp so that they can be easy to use without extra pressure.

3. Slips and falls

Slips and falls can happen anywhere, but they are more likely, if they happen in a small place where it's difficult to move, like in a food truck. This kind of accidents can get worse if someone puts their hand on a hot stove trying not to fall, or hit their head when falling. It's better to prevent this kind of injuries in food trucks before they happen.

Spills should be cleaned up immediately, no matter how long the line outside the food truck is. Safety is your number one priority. The non-slip mat on the floors will help with traction, but keeping the main aisle clear at all times will help workers avoid falls even more.

4. Car accidents

Your food truck will be parked most of the time, but don't forget it is a vehicle. Blind spots can be a problem, so if you install big mirror on the back can help you prevent car accidents. All passengers must be seated and must use seat belts while the food truck is moving.
